Job Description:

Overview:

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a data-driven, curious, and detail-oriented intern to join our Strategic Projects and Analytics team for Summer 2025. This hybrid internship (two days per week onsite in Elmhurst, IL, with occasional visits to our Chicago office) offers hands-on experience applying data science to real-world operations—spanning forecasting, margin improvement, and estimator performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze revenue opportunities, repair cycle times, cost trends, and other operational metrics

  • Clean and prepare large datasets from internal and external sources

  • Build dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) across markets

  • Support predictive models to estimate repair timelines and forecast revenue

  • Identify process gaps and patterns to drive continuous improvement

  • Present findings through clear visuals and data storytelling for business leaders
     

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field

  • Proficient in Excel, Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn), and SQL

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Power BI)

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Interest in automotive, logistics, or business operations is a plus

Compensation Details:

Internship Details:

  • Start Date: May 19, 2025
     

  • End Date: August 8, 2025 (12 weeks)
     

  • Schedule: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite in Elmhurst, IL (with occasional visits to our Chicago office)
     

  • Compensation:

    • $20/hour (Undergraduate students)
       

    • $25/hour (Graduate students or returnship candidates)

Interview Process – What to Expect

We want you to feel informed and prepared every step of the way. Here’s how our selection process works:

  • Application Review: We’ll review all applications and select a small group (typically 5–8) of top candidates.
     

  • Case Study: Selected candidates will receive a short, take-home case study to complete before the interview. This helps us understand your approach to real-world problems.
     

  • Initial Interview: Based on case study results, we’ll invite top candidates to a 45-minute virtual interview with members of our Strategic Projects and Analytics team.
     

  • Second Interview (if applicable): Finalists may be invited to a second conversation with the hiring manager and a senior leader.
     

  • Timeline: Case studies and interviews will begin the week of April 28, 2025.
