As a Senior Software Automation Engineer on the Automation and AI team, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions that integrate seamlessly with our Unity-based gaming platforms and backend systems. Your work will directly influence our live game operations, player experiences, and the speed and quality of our production cycles. You will collaborate with designers, data scientists, QA teams, and other developers to conceptualize, build, and deploy cutting-edge tools and workflows that leverage the latest AI trends.
End-to-End Development
Design, develop, and maintain both front-end (Unity) and back-end services (APIs, microservices, databases) to support AI-driven tools and automation workflows.
Implement secure, scalable, and high-performance features that integrate with existing game codebases and infrastructure.
Unity Tooling & Integration
Build and maintain custom Unity editor tools to automate repetitive tasks (e.g., content creation workflows, build pipelines, performance checks).
Leverage Unity’s scripting APIs to integrate AI services and automate manual steps in the development and liveops processes.
Backend & Infrastructure
Develop and optimize server-side applications and microservices that power AI features, data processing, and real-time analytics.
Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of AI-driven solutions.
AI & Automation
Work closely with data scientists and AI specialists to integrate machine learning models, autonomous agents, and other advanced AI techniques into Unity and backend systems.
Evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks to determine feasibility, integration points, and ROI for the business.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Implement automated testing strategies (unit, integration, functional, regression) to ensure reliability and maintainability of new and existing systems.
Use AI-driven or goal-led QA approaches to enhance coverage and reduce manual testing overhead.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Partner with game developers, architects and product managers to identify challenges and opportunities for automation and AI application.
Document designs, workflows, and best practices for broader internal adoption.
Continuous Improvement
Proactively identify areas for optimization, new tools, or process enhancements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest AI, gaming, and automation trends to propose and implement innovative solutions.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of professional experience in full stack development, preferably within a gaming context.
1+ years of professional experience in AI and Automation development and implementation on relevant practices ie: G-RAG,.
Proficiency in Unity (C#) with proven experience creating editor tools, game modules, or liveops features.
Strong back-end development experience with a modern language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or Node.js) and frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET, Django, Express).
Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and designing RESTful APIs or microservices architectures preferably Graph databases such as Neo4J.
Familiarity with DevOps & CI/CD practices and tools (Git, Docker, Jenkins, etc.).
Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (design patterns, code reviews, testing, and version control).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in an agile environment.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI APIs) or integrating third-party AI services.
Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including serverless computing, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
Familiarity with gaming analytics, real-time multiplayer systems, or other liveops-related technologies.
Passion for gaming and a keen interest in the future of AI-driven game development.
