Test Lead (R3)– Data Ecosystem

Team overview:  
Our organization is responsible for the global Data & Analytics transformation of our company Manufacturing division. We collaborate internationally to deliver digital services and products that help the organization to achieve its digital strategy. We are also responsible for building and evolving a division wide data ecosystem including most of the data integrations, data products and digital solutions build on top of the data.  

Position overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Testing Lead to oversee the data engineering processes & capabilities across the ecosystem and its end-to-end testing aspects within our organization (including digital products from dashboards to custom applications). The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing testing strategies, managing external partners across time zones, and ensuring the quality and integrity of data & data related capabilities and applications used in our pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.  Pharma manufacturing is a highly regulated environment so responsibility for the compliance aspect of the testing process is significant part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Testing Initiatives: Develop and implement testing strategies for data engineering projects/products to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Team / Chapter Management: Manage and mentor a team of (mostly external) testers fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment across initiatives.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Design, execute, and oversee all phases of testing, including functional, regression, user acceptance, performance, and security testing. 
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy, validity, and reliability by establishing robust data validation processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, compliance stakeholders, QA stakeholders and others to understand project/program requirements and deliver effective testing solutions.
  • User testing management: Educate end users and other business stakeholders on test execution principles and strategy.
  • Tools and Technologies: Look for ways how to simplify, optimize and leverage automation within our existing technical stack.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for testing processes, standards, best practices, and results.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to project/product leads on testing progress, outcomes, and issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement of testing practices, methodologies, and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 7+ years of experience in data engineering and testing, preferably in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing. Experience with AWS, DBT, Trino and similar technologies is a benefit.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.
  • Experience with automation testing tools is a must.
  • Ability to leverage CI/CD patterns.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing others.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Experienced with regulated industry and related SDLC regulations, experience with GxP solutions is a plus
  • Experience with process design and optimization is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
