Your Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join our MidCorp Pricing team. The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical and technical skills to support actuarial pricing for our Middle Market insurance products, including Commercial Auto, General Liability, Property, and Worker’s Compensation.

  • Conduct actuarial pricing analysis for middle market products, industries, and states
  • Prepare loss ratings for large accounts to support underwriting profitability
  • Build and enhance tools for rate indications, segmentation studies, and other actuarial analysis
  • Query, validate, and analyze data to monitor key performance indicators

Job Description

  • Actuarial studies – parameter selection, book profitability, segmentation
  • Loss rating analysis – large account pricing
  • Monitoring and reporting – price monitors, benchmarks
  • Tool development – programming and testing tools such as pricing models and dashboards
  • Ad-hoc analysis requests from actuaries or business unit

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Curiosity, motivation, and ability to self-teach
  • Pride of ownership – detail oriented, committed to accuracy and quality
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages such as SQL, SAS, Python, and VBA is beneficial
  • Understanding of insurance and actuarial concepts and methodologies
  • Strong analytical, database, and Excel skills
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Strong team player with leadership attributes
  • Hours will be 9am-6pm US Eastern Time with potential to switch to earlier shift after one year

Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in a quantitative discipline such as actuarial science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, or operations research
  • 2 to 5 years of casualty actuarial work experience
  • 2 to 4 casualty actuarial exams
