Job Details:

Summary: The Food Safety Quality Assurance Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate records, supporting quality initiatives, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. This position involves a variety of clerical tasks, including data entry, recordkeeping, and administrative support. Work involves occasional non-routine assignments and requires the ability to adapt to flexible work hours. Requires some judgment in the selection of standard procedures from among several that apply to the job. Includes organizing work and selecting appropriate methods to complete tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter daily audit information into a summary for review.
  • Distribute mail to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain hold logs, foreign object tracking log, including incident details and corrective actions. There may be other data assigned as the needs of the department grow.
  • Track HACCP and SSOP monitoring deficiencies.
  • Answer phone calls and take messages.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Maintain daily audit packets, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain records retention and paperwork destruction logs according to Tyson policy.
  • Organize and fulfill daily paperwork from both shifts to include filing documents and printing blank documents or labels, ensuring timely completion.
  • Enter summaries from meeting minutes.
  • Enter claim information into a Quality Action Report database and plant view for tracking and trending.
  • Review plant data entries for completeness of checks, data verification, calibration logs, observation verification, and pre-shipments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one-year administrative clerical experience.
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
  • Some post-secondary education in general office and clerical skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in additional data entry software (SAP, Infinity, SafetyChain).
