Senior UAV Localization Engineer (m/f/d)

Your mission

  • Develop and optimize localization algorithms for autonomous UAVs
  • Integrate visual odometry, SLAM, and GNSS data for accurate state estimation
  • Implement real-time sensor fusion using LiDAR, IMU, camera, and GPS inputs
  • Design visual navigation pipelines for GPS-denied environments
  • Work within ROS/ROS2 to deploy and test localization modules
  • Support mapping, navigation, and autonomy teams with precise pose estimates
  • Test and validate in real-world environments with real drones

Your profile

  • ROS / ROS2: Extensive experience developing robotic applications and localization modules.
  • C++ Proficiency: Strong coding skills for real-time systems in robotics applications.
  • UAV Localization: Solid background in visual odometry, SLAM, and visual navigation.
  • Sensor Data Fusion: Experience integrating data from various sensor modalities to enhance accuracy.
  • Mapping & Navigation: Practical experience in mapping, robot navigation, and autonomous systems.
  • Robotics Passion: Demonstrated passion for UAVs and robotics, with a keen interest in autonomous flight systems
Nice to have:
  • Advanced Algorithms: Familiarity with machine learning or reinforcement learning approaches for localization.
  • Additional Platforms: Experience with other programming languages (Python, MATLAB) or simulation tools (Gazebo, RViz).
  • Competitive Edge: Participation in UAV competitions, research projects, or hands-on prototyping.
