What we are looking for: 

Gartner Digital Markets is looking for a passionate Data Engineer to join our team. We're seeking candidates with strong experience in designing and implementing data orchestration workflows using Prefect or similar tools. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Python, understand data pipeline architecture, and have hands-on experience automating complex data flows across diverse sources and destinations. You should be enthusiastic about building reliable, scalable data orchestration solutions that power business decisions and have a demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with practical delivery.

 What you’ll do: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain data orchestration workloads to automate complex data pipeline executions

  • Build and enhance data pipelines that connect to various sources including APIs, databases, event streams, and file systems

  • Create reusable patterns and components to streamline pipeline development

  • Configure pipeline monitoring and alerting to ensure operational reliability

  • Optimize workflow performance and resource utilization

  • Collaborate with analytics engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow and integration across systems.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems, or related field

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data workflow orchestration and pipeline development 

  • Experience using Python, Object-Oriented Programming, and Functional Programming

  • Experience with orchestrators (Prefect or Airflow)

  • SQL skills with experience working in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud providers for workflow automation

  • Experience working with Data Warehouses or Datalakes to support data integration and analytics

  • Understanding of logging, monitoring, and alerting for data pipelines

  • Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative development

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
