Key Responsibilities

Lead and/or develop and execute significantly complex projects having a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design, which are leading edge of system functionality or technology; spearhead research and development of new technologies as appropriate; and work with the process team to insure the identified minimum required specifications (MRS) is valid and attainable.  Coordinate with process team and management to understand system requirements.  Be able to chair architecture brainstorming meetings and drive the systems process to down select to a final architecture of a project level system.

Use systems analysis to create a diagram in order to review specifications, influence product engineering and software to utilize system engineering concepts for new, complex designs and ongoing engineering improvements, and supervise tests.

Interface with other groups to workout design, systems architecture development and integration issues. This position involves close collaboration with different Business Units of Applied Materials (Etch, Deposition…) to leverage existing systems and design and drive modifications required by the project specific requirements. Experience working on systems running different processes is preferred.

Problem identification and troubleshooting significantly complex engineering problems, which are on leading edge of technology or system functionality.

Review system engineering test results and architecture development ideas.  Influence and communicate change in adjusting design direction as necessary.

Support System Integration during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.

Work with vendors to develop new competitive products and takes business issues into consideration.

Provide remote and onsite support to field support personnel as required.

  • Experience using Teamcenter is a plus

Successful candidates must be eligible to lawfully receive export-controlled information, without the need for the company to seek a license.  Furthermore, since the role entails work on a US government funded project, the successful candidate must also be able to meet the government’s requirements for eligibility to participate in the project, without the need for the company to seek an exception/extraordinary approval.    The government’s requirements include certain restrictions on nationality and association/affiliation with entities deemed to be of concern.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
