Intern - Engineering Data Specialist

The intern will support the Product Material and Routing Specialist in cleaning up and maintaining accurate data in the Omega ERP system. This includes updating Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, labor standards, and process workflows. The role involves collaborating with Engineering and Drafting teams to ensure data accuracy while following all quality and safety standards.

At the end of the internship a presentation will be made to overview the experience and acquired knowledge.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and Work Definitions (Routings), and Labor Standards within Omega ERP system. 
  • Collaborate with Product Material and Routing Specialist, Manufacturing Engineering, and Drafting teams to review and correct BOMs and routing data. 
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies related to labor, equipment and raw materials.
  • Generate reports on cost analysis and performance metrics as required
  • Maintain files in an organized manner
  • Wear appropriate PPE when in required areas
  • Adhere to all company policies, including Quality, Safety, and HSE guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in a B.S. Engineering program (industrial, Mechanical, or related field) at an accredited university
  • Coursework or experience in process workflow; manufacturing operations, or data analysis preferred.
  • Familiar with ERP/MRP systems.  OMEGA/Oracle ERP is a plus but not required
  • Experience working with and reading manufacturing drawings is a plus but not required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office, including Excel to analyze data
  • Strong math and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment
