Introduction

Within the Investment Management Department of Eurizon Capital SA, we are looking for an intern to join the Fixed Income Portfolio Management team, with a solid quantitative background and a strong motivation to deepen the understanding of bond markets.

The ideal candidate has a degree in economics, engineering, and/or statistics; is curious, proactive, and able to clearly communicate complex analyses. The insertion will take place in a highly collaborative context, with direct exposure to decision-making processes.

Activities

• You will provide direct support to Portfolio Managers in managing bond portfolios;
• You will analyze market and macroeconomic data related to the relevant Asset Classes;
• You will participate in discussions on the tactical and strategic Asset Allocation of the managed portfolios;
• You will calculate and monitor the performance and risk of the portfolios;
• You will contribute to the creation of models and portfolio optimization on various bond market Asset Classes;
• You will interact with the Middle/Back Office and Risk Management teams to ensure the correct operational flow.

What you will learn

• The key principles of bond portfolio construction and management (duration, credit risk, sectoral and geographical allocation, etc.);
• The use of professional tools and quantitative models for strategic and tactical market analysis;
• The interpretation of the main risk and performance indicators;
• The operational mechanism by which the management team makes decisions

Requirements

• Master's degree in economics, statistics, and/or engineering;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Excellent command of Excel and the Office package;
• Knowledge of programming and automation languages such as Python, VBA, R, MatLab;
• Excellent knowledge of English; other languages are an added value;
• Possession of additional certifications (CFA, FRM, CAIA, etc.) in addition to the degree is an added value.

The selection process is divided in two phases: you will carry out a soft skills interview and, if successful, we will invite you to an interview with colleagues from the concerned structure. In any case, you will receive feedback regarding your application.
