Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sr Data Engineer with strong
experience in building and managing data
pipelines across AWS cloud
services (Comcast Cloud Platform is a plus). The ideal candidate will also
bring hands-on experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language
Processing (NLP), and API development using Python, alongside a solid
understanding of the cable construction and network domain.
As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll be instrumental in enabling analytics,
intelligent applications, and real-time business insights by integrating and
transforming data from multiple systems in a secure, scalable, and efficient
way.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Python, PySpark, and Shell scripting
- Integrate and optimize structured and unstructured data sources including DynamoDB, Oracle, and external APIs
- Build and manage data lakes and warehouses on S3, Redshift, Athena, and RDS
- Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) and secrets management via HashiCorp Vault
- Develop and deploy APIs using Python (Flask, FastAPI) to serve machine learning models or expose processed datasets to internal tools
- Build and productionize machine learning pipelines using Python, S3, Glue, and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, spaCy, or transformers
- Apply Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to extract insights from text data sources such as service tickets, construction logs, or work orders
- Collaborate with domain SMEs to model and understand data across cable construction and network operations
- Develop and schedule data workflows using Concourse CI/CD
- Maintain and enhance legacy data workflows (e.g., Pentaho) during migration and modernization phases
- Ensure robust data quality, performance monitoring, and pipeline observability
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
