Sr. Consultant - ERM Framework Support

The Enterprise Risk Management Office plays a key role in the Risk organization. This Sr. Consultant will be responsible for on-going support in the exploration, maintenance and implementation of data science tools and solutions.  Act as liaison between the modeling team  and the IT department in order to manage infrastructure, monitor technical upgrades, ensure adherance with standards/procedures, establish communication/training programs, and oversee expense budgets/project statuses. This Senior Consultant, ERM Framework Support role will report to an ERM manager on these initiatives. 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support/coordinate ERM team activities with other teams including Regulators, Audit, IT, and other groups/functions, as required
  • Assist in managing the ERM operating budget, forecasts, and training needs for the team 
  • Act as business analyst in support of various data science platforms that host different models and tools developed and/or owned by the ERM- Risk Advanced Analytics team
  • Prepare and manage enhancements/defects docket items and requirements for data science platforms
  • Explore and work with Advanced Analytics Team to test new capabilities of various data science tools and modeling platforms
  • Partner with technology team, project managers and/or external vendors on various enhancement, testing, and implementation tasks related to ERM tools and platforms.
  • Support ERM staffing and training requirements, working with Communications team on ongoing programs, training and course development, where appropriate
  • Drive consistency and quality of documentation and work products
  • Identify and escalate issues/risks in a timely manner and collaborate on resolution; challenge the status-quo, identify effective ways for problem solving  
     

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • 7+ years of experience in risk analytics or a related field within a financial services organization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with coding languages like SAS, Python and related infrastructure is required 
  • Understanding of project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.  
  • Ability to identify, escalate, and assist in driving actions to mitigate priority risks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.​
  • Strategic and logical thinking abilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Project management and change management capabilities.
  • Digital literacy and proficiency in relevant software and coding languages

Salary Range:

$83,100 - 141,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
