About the Role
You are a passionate Software Validation professional, who is enthusiastic about automotive electronics and wants to define future ADAS/AD systems and in-cabin user experience.
As Senior Software Validation Engineer within the ADAS LAB, you are an expert on the ADAS/AD software validation, and you have a proficient high-level understanding of all relevant neighboring domains. In our ADAS Lab, you will derive & execute SW qualification tests. With your peers within the Feature Integration team, you will prototype the design as well as prove and demonstrate technical feasibility of ADAS/AD system integration into our controller families based on test setups and concept cars.
What You Will Do
- Derive, execute and automate ADAS L2/L2+ SW qualification tests according to SW requirements and SW validation concepts.
- Ensure availability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of necessary ecosystems to enable the execution of software validation activities up to a prototypical level (Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop, Camera-in-loop, simulation environments, etc.).
- Collaborate with software, algorithm, and system teams to debug and improve ADAS functionality.
- Ensure high SW quality according to applicable industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE) and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance to DevOps, other SW validation and system integration engineers to enable a seamless delivery and deployment for SiL/HiL testing.
- Collaborate closely with SMEs to continuously improve SW requirements and SW validation concepts.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in automotive software/system verification & validation, 3+ years hands-on experience in embedded software validation of real-time and safety critical ADAS/AD systems (Highway Assist, Traffic Jam Pilot/Highway Pilot, Automated Parking Assist, etc.) in OEM programs.
- Core expertise in SiL, HiL based software qualification tests and relevant simulation environments (e.g., IPG CarMaker, Vector/dSPACE restbus simulation, etc.).
- Proficiency in programming (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C/C++) for test automation.
- Good understanding of requirement and test management tools, such as provided by IBM Jazz platform.
- Good understanding of applicable industry standards (e.g., ASPICE) and best practices.
Bonus Points if You Have
- ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level or comparable certification.
- Experience in perception data verification, sensor fusion, and camera-based testing.
- Strong knowledge of Camera-in-the-Loop (CIL) setup and validation methodologies.
- Strong expertise in dSPACE SCALEXIO and Vector CANoe.
- Good understanding of CAN, Ethernet, FlexRay, and automotive communication protocols.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills for post-processing automotive communication logs.
- Advanced understanding of Functional Safety (ISO26262), Cybersecurity (ISO21434) and ASPICE.
- Advanced understanding of ADAS/AD computing platforms (SoC & MCU).
- Advanced understanding of technology and trends (e.g., simulation) inside the software validation domain.
