Position:Power BI Reporting Engineer
Job Description:
What You will Be Doing
The BI Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing BI reports, dashboards, and data models to support Arrow’s business insights and analytics needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of business intelligence, data analysis, and visualization principles, with good experience in working with data modeling techniques.
- Power BI Development:
- Design and create visually compelling and interactive reports and dashboards.
- Customize and extend Power BI functionality through advanced scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
- Implement complex calculations and business logic within Power BI.
- Power Platform Integration:
- Leverage Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate) to create integrated solutions.
- Embed Power BI reports into Power Apps and vice versa for a unified user experience.
- Automate workflows and processes using Power Automate.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Develop scripts to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Implement scripting solutions to enhance Power BI functionality and automate routine tasks.
- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data pipelines using scripting languages.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate advanced analytics into Power BI.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI, Power Platform, and scripting solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to reports, dashboards, and data processes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to Power BI and scripting.
- Continuously optimize and enhance existing reports and scripts based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in BI development (preferred Power BI) and implementation.
- Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M Language).
- Extensive experience in data modeling, including star schema and other dimensional modeling techniques.
- Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with SQL and database management systems.
- Understanding of digital business operations and metrics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Azure Databricks familiarity or prior use
- Experience with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik – preferred Power BI).
- Experience with extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of Salesforce data into BI systems
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R.
- Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics.
