As a Senior Data Engineer, you will create a best-of-class reporting infrastructure keeping in mind the user experience for our fashion brands advertising on Zalando, helping them to understand their advertising performance and enable them to make informed decisions through data. While the role is mainly data engineering focused, having backend knowledge will be beneficial since the team also builds some BE components ( i.e. APIs )

Build and improve the campaign reporting infrastructure that allows our fashion brands monitor advertising campaigns on Zalando's advertisement platform.
Evaluate and Implement leading-edge technologies and optimise platform performance in terms of throughput, read-latency, scalability, and reliability. Our reports should render in under 5s despite we are dealing with large datasets.
Take end-to-end responsibility for projects in a cross-functional team and iterate quickly during the product development cycle. As well as, ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering peers.
Share your knowledge with your colleagues and help them grow their technical skills.
You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering(Python), proficiency in designing and developing APIs(Java) and handling high-volume data.
You have solid knowledge of operational excellence and cloud-oriented infrastructure (AWS, k8s, etc.).
You have experience building data infrastructures that render data in a web application.
Backend engineering knowledge is a plus.
DevOps knowledge is a plus.
