Job Description:
GDIT is looking for a Public Health Data Manager with data management and Palantir/DCIPHER experience. In this role you will provide data management support to the CDC Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology’s Inform and Disseminate Division. You will focus on management of big data sets of surveillance and purchased clinical data. Your role is as a data analyst who works closely with your client to understand the needs of health scientists and ensure data is ready for analysis. Supporting CDC in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work with big data sets and turn complex analysis around in a few days. There may be opportunities to support MMWR and other publications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce data extracts and cleaning scripts
Perform data quality on data pipelines.
Perform data wrangling and develop data ingest and data prep automation tools
Develop and document Python, R, or SQL programs, views, and databases
Focus is on packaging, handling and handle all data pipeline procedures in preparation for preparation of data visualization and dashboard outputs
Maintain requisite knowledge (coding) for managing and analyzing large data sets using Python, SQL, or R coding language.
Experience with data management using Palantir Foundry.
Verify results and validate with other known information sources
Develop data management and analysis materials and summarize and visualize results (for example, develop graphs for dashboards showing data metrics) using tools such as PowerBI or other reporting tools.
Track technical assistance being provided to ensure request/queries are answered promptly and consistently
Support the creation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for data preparation, automation and our style guidelines for data visualizations and dashboards.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field, or Masters Public Health
4 or more years of relevant experience, with emphasis on coding for managing and analyzing large data sets using Python, SQL, or R coding language
3 years of specific data analysis tools: Python, R, SQL
Public health and/or CDC experience required along with Palantir/DCIPHER experience
Experience with packaging, handling and handle all data pipeline procedures in preparation for preparation of data visualization and dashboard outputs
Experience with Big Data analysis programming techniques and technologies in a public health environment
Experience with data management using Palantir Foundry
Experience developing data management and analysis materials and summarize and visualize results (for example, develop graphs for dashboards showing data metrics) using tools such as PowerBI or other reporting tools
Experience in the use of MS Teams and Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook)
Clearance: Ability to pass a basic CDC Security Investigation and obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance

The likely
salary range for this position is $63,750 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
