The Core AI team brings together a world class team of applied CV ML researchers working on a range of problems in Mixed/Virtual and Augmented Reality including 3D Vision, Neural Rendering, 3D Generative-AI, Vision Language Models, Scene Understanding, and Neural Avatars. We do a mix of fundamental research and technology development. We are seeking exceptional researchers with a background in 3D Computer Vision to join our team.Research Scientist - Computer Vision - XR Tech Core AI Responsibilities
- Conduct applied research to advance the State of the Art in 3D Computer Vision (Depth Estimation, spatial and 3D scene understanding, Neural Rendering, Generative-AI for Avatars) and Vision Language / Multimodal Models.
- Apply research to advance Meta's VR, MR and AR products and experiences.
- Consistently and sustainably advance the state of the art for your problem, including setting and executing against roadmaps for 6-month plus timeframes.
- Collaborate with different cross-functional teams across the globe in research and product.
- Present the outcomes of the research findings as papers in top tier conferences in the area of CV and Graphics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- Proven development skills in deep learning, working with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience developing computer vision algorithms or infrastructure in Python or C/C++.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Deep Learning, Computer Vision, AR/MR/VR, 3D Vision, Robotics, Machine Learning or artificial intelligence
- First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences, e.g. CVPR. ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field with published projects in the fields of machine learning, deep learning and/or computer vision.
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions and trade-offs to determine a path forward.
- Experience with CPU/GPU and mobile optimization.
