About the Position:

Comet is seeking a visionary UI/UX Product Team Lead to join our Product team. In this role, you'll report directly to our Head of Product and play a key role in shaping the UI/UX direction of our platform. You’ll have the unique opportunity to both lead and inspire a team of talented UI/UX designers, while remaining hands-on, bringing your own ideas to life.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a UI/UX team working on a suite of tools that enable Data Scientists and Developers to evaluate and improve their AI applications faster
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and marketing teams to deliver intuitive scalable interfaces for technical users
  • Contribute to the UI/UX work as needed while also supporting and guiding the broader  UI/UX team, this is a hands-on leadership role
  • Inspire and motivate the team to do their best work while creating a clear UI/UX vision that aligns with Comet’s goals
  • Advocate for UI/UX excellence at every stage of the product lifecycle, balancing speed, quality and experimentation

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX for technical users such as Data Scientists, Developers, or ML Engineers
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Confident in scaling UI/UX teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • User-first mindset and a strong track record of turning complex workflows into clear, intuitive UI/UX solutions
  • Proven experience leading UI/UX efforts across cross-functional teams, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to drive outcomes
  • Familiarity with Figma, JIRA and Github
  • Exceptional communication skills, using storytelling to clarify complex problems and inspire teams
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and skilled at finding the right balance between quality, speed, and experimentation
  • Experience building products for Data Scientists or working in the Machine Learning space is a strong plus
  • Experience working on Open-Source products is a strong plus
